We major in the tantalising, nutty flavoured Hass Avocados and have the richly flavoured Fuerte Avocados as well.

Avocados are versatile and nutritious fruits that offer numerous health benefits:

1. Diabetes Management: Avocados have a low glycemic index and may have little effect on blood sugar levels. They can be beneficial for people with diabetes, as they provide carbohydrates with minimal impact on blood glucose levels.

2. Heart Health: The monounsaturated fats in avocados, such as oleic acid, help reduce inflammation, lower bad cholesterol (LDL), increase good cholesterol (HDL), and reduce the risk of heart diseases.

3. Nutrient Absorption: The healthy fats in avocados aid in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin A, D, E, and K. Consuming avocados with other foods can enhance the absorption of nutrients.

4. Digestive Health: Avocados are rich in fiber, with a 100-gram serving providing about 6.7 grams of fiber. Fiber promotes healthy digestion; helps prevent constipation, and can contribute to feelings of fullness.

5. Immune Support: Avocados contain vitamins C, E, and B6, which are essential for a healthy immune system. Adequate intake of these vitamins supports immune function and helps protect against illness.

6. Weight Management: Although avocados are relatively high in calories, their fiber and healthy fats can help promote satiety, reducing the likelihood of overeating and aiding in weight management.

7. Supporting fetal health: Folate is important for a healthy pregnancy. Adequate intake reduces the risk of miscarriage and neural tube abnormalities. Consume at least 600 micrograms (mcg) of folate per day when pregnant. One avocado may contain as much as 160 mcg.

8. Great for vision: Avocados contain lutein and zeaxanthin, two phytochemicals present in eye tissue. They provide antioxidant protection to help minimize damage, including from UV light.

There are numerous delicious ways to consume avocados. Here are some ideas:

  1. Sprinkled with Salt and Pepper: Enjoy avocados in their natural state by simply sprinkling them with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Avocado in Scrambled Eggs: Add diced avocado to your scrambled eggs while they’re cooking in a pan. Alternatively, you can add avocado after the eggs are cooked.
  3. Avocado as a Spread: Replace regular spreads like butter and margarine with mashed avocado. Use it as a spread on toast or sandwiches for added vitamins and minerals.
  4. Guacamole: Make traditional guacamole by combining avocados with herbs and seasonings. You can also experiment with additional ingredients like corn, pineapple, broccoli, or quinoa.
  5. Avocado in Salads: Add avocados to salads to enhance their nutritional value and make them more filling. Avocado can be a great substitute for mayonnaise in salads like tuna, chicken, or egg salad.
  6. Avocado Soups: Use avocados as the main ingredient in avocado soup or add chunks of avocado to other soup recipes. Enjoy them chilled or hot.
  7. Avocado Bowls: Halve and pit an avocado, drizzle some vinaigrette into the center of each half, and enjoy it as a simple avocado bowl.
  8. Avocado Toppings for Hot Dogs: Enhance your hot dogs by topping them with avocado slices.

 

To enjoy dragon fruit, you can simply slice and eat it as-is, or you can try it with yogurt, add it to a smoothie, or include it in a salad. It can also be used in various culinary preparations due to its unique look and taste.
Avocados are a great addition to smoothies – they can add creaminess to the consistency of your favorite fruit smoothie recipe or be a fresh non-dairy addition to add smoothness to fruit and/or vegetable smoothie recipes.
